Like a Viking is about motion - not because the way forward is clear, but because standing still never was an option.

These songs live with mechanics, truckers, fix-it friends, anxious planners, sentimental collectors, and quiet observers. They tell stories of waiting in line, answering one more “ASAP,” fixing what shouldn’t work anymore, and carrying old voices forward through time. Humor shows up often, not to hide the truth, but to make room for it.

Set to a warm, 1970s-inspired sound, this album honors persistence over polish and character over perfection. Some songs laugh. Others linger. All of them move - through memory, doubt, pride, and the spaces where happiness isn’t always what it promises to be.

This record is for the ones who keep going anyway.

ABOUT MOGIPBOB

Mogipbob: Artist Bio

Mogipbob’s debut album introduced a songwriter with little interest in staying inside a single musical lane. Entirely self-written, it blended four country-infused tracks that nodded to the open prairies with songs that explored folk, rock, blues, soul, and other influences. Playful in places, reflective in others, the album established a creative approach that has remained at the heart of Mogipbob: start with the idea, then let the song decide what it wants to become.

Two more albums have followed, expanding that musical world considerably. Across all three releases, the songs draw inspiration from memories, observations, humour, everyday experiences, and the occasional idea that simply refuses to leave until it becomes a song. Some lean toward country or folk, others toward blues, soul, rock, or sounds that are harder to neatly categorize.

That variety is intentional. Mogipbob is less about belonging to a particular genre than about finding the right voice, mood, and arrangement for each story. The result is a growing catalogue that can be funny, sincere, sentimental, quirky, or quietly thoughtful — sometimes within the same album.

Through it all, the songs remain distinctly personal: curious, unfiltered, and rooted in the perspective of a small-town Canadian artist with a wide musical imagination and an enduring fascination with where a simple idea can lead.

About the Album: High on the Hog

Mogipbob’s debut album is a genuine, homegrown collection of twelve original songs - a mix of humor, heart, and hard-earned perspective. Rooted in the prairies of Alberta, the album blends classic country storytelling with modern, genre-bending creativity, proving that honest songwriting doesn’t have to fit neatly into one box.

The record’s four country tracks carry the warmth of campfire guitars, the sway of steel strings, and lyrics that capture small-town life, love, and lessons learned the hard way. The non-country songs stretch out into broader territory - from bluesy grooves to reflective ballads and playful rock undertones.

Themes of nostalgia, resilience, humor, and connection run throughout the album. Even when the tone turns melancholy, there’s always a spark of wit or wisdom waiting in the next verse. It’s an album that feels lived-in - the sound of someone who’s seen a few things, laughed through most of them, and decided to write it all down.

About the Album: Like a Viking

Like a Viking is an album about work, waiting, memory, and the quiet ways people keep moving forward. Its characters are mechanics, truckers, fix-it friends, anxious office workers, sentimental collectors, and people trying to stay kind in a world that rarely slows down.  Humor shows up often, but it’s never careless - it’s how these stories survive pressure, loss, and second-guessing.

Set against a warm, easy-listening 1970s palette, the songs draw from everyday victories and small defeats: standing in line too long, fixing what shouldn’t work anymore, answering one more “ASAP,” or finding peace in burgers, fries, and familiar voices.  The album balances character sketches with introspection, allowing playful songs to sit beside reflections on memory, judgment, and emotional distance.

At its core, Like a Viking isn’t about mythic strength - it’s about persistence.  It honors the people who keep things running without applause, who face internal juries, carry old words with them, and discover that happiness isn’t always where it’s promised to be.  These songs don’t chase perfection.  They find meaning in imperfection, movement, and the courage to keep going anyway.

About the Album: Anything but Me

Anything but Me pushes Mogipbob’s songwriting further into the unexpected, mixing country-soul, folk-rock, blues, funk, and western storytelling with a cast of unusual characters, strange situations, dry humour, and moments of genuine reflection.

The album moves freely between the playful and the personal. Songs about bell bottoms, vampires, ancient solutions, questionable deliveries, and everyday absurdities sit alongside quieter reflections on aging, identity, memory, change, and the small things that matter more than we often realize. Rather than following one musical formula, each song is allowed to find the sound that best suits its story.

At its heart, Anything but Me is about perspective: the way ordinary life can become funny, meaningful, frustrating, nostalgic, or unexpectedly profound depending on how you look at it. It is an album that embraces contrast, moving easily between the silly and the sincere, the nostalgic and the forward looking, and the grounded and the imaginative.

More than either of the albums before it, Anything but Me reflects Mogipbob’s growing willingness to follow an idea wherever it leads. The result is a varied, character-driven collection that feels unmistakably his own: curious, offbeat, thoughtful, and never too interested in fitting neatly into one box.
